Core Values:

Integrity

We break it down into two parts:

  1. Personal Integrity. Having values and living by them. Granting subordinates autonomy helps them live in their own integrity. Candor helps too.
  2. Platform Integrity. We use platforms for their intended purpose and help clients do the same. E.g. we don’t use black hat SEO tactics, toxic backlinks, or buying Reddit profiles.

Excellence

Focus. Stay in your zone of genius. Practice strategic discipline.

Give more than you take. The value of your offer should exceed its price. Take pride in your work.

Always have a growth mindset. Be antifragile; adversity makes you stronger.

Apply leverage — IP, content, tools, & systems — to maximize impact per person.

Courage

  1. Discard irrational fears. Mental clarity helps.
  2. Face rational fears by taking calculated risks. Analyze costs & benefits of risk. Failure is okay as long as the risk was justified and you learn.

Have a bias for action. Conduct experiments. Adapt to change with curiosity, enthusiasm, and belief in yourself (e.g. when things change because of AI).

Taste

Marcus Aurelius wrote “You always own the option of having no opinion… Things you can’t control… are not asking to be judged by you. Leave them alone.”

So pick one thing or a couple things and go deep. Curiosity will drive learning.

Develop a voice. And use it.

Your confidence in each domain should be proportionate to your understanding of it.

There is no work-life balance; work is part of life.
